Founder, Maria Finn was a contributor to Sunset Magazine where she wrote about lifestyle trends. She continues to write about sustainable food systems along with food gardening, wine and travel. She was a commercial fisherwoman in Alaska for several years, including crewing on an all female salmon seiner. She then spent winters traveling in Latin American where she learned to dance tango in Argentina and salsa in Cuba. She cooked on commercial fishing boats and today, her favorite place to feed people is under sail on the San Francisco Bay.  She loves to tell stories for The Moth and forages wild mushrooms in the fall and seaweed in the spring. She produces food events for Stochastic Labs, an incubator and residency for artists, scientists and tech engineers in Berkeley. For more on her writing & storytelling visit www.mariafinn.com.
